CHARLES A. AUBE, SR., 75, of Warwick, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Kent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Mary G. (Ficocelli) Aube.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Catherine (Romaska) Aube.
Charlie graduated from LaSalle Academy and joined the Navy during the Korean War. Upon returning, Charlie spent his evenings at URI obtaining a BA in Business, the first in his family to do so. Mr. Aube joined Dunn & Bradstreet as a loan officer and later joined the Small Business Administration, and became one of the most decorated Liquidation Officers in the country, even receiving a gold medal from President Carter. After 25 years of service, Mr. Aube retired from federal service and served as Gov. Sundlun's Assistant Chief of Staff. After leaving the Governor's Office Mr. Aube served as the Chief Supervisory Clerk for RI Superior Court. In 1995, Mr. Aube left state service to spend more time with his family.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son Charles A. Aube, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Warwick; nephews, Robert F. Aube and Sue Redfern of Peace Dale, and Richard and Kathy Aube of West Warwick; one great niece; and one great-great niece. He was the brother of the late Francis W. Aube.
