CATHERINE "KAY" (PREVITE) PROCACCINI
CATHERINE "KAY" (PREVITE) PROCACCINI, 92, formerly of Neutaconkanut Rd., Johnston, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009. She was the beloved wife for 61 years of Angelo Procaccini until his passing in 2001. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Tomaso) Previte, she lived in Johnston for 65 years and spent many winters in Hollywood, FL.
Kay was an assistant buyer for the former Gladdings Department Store in downtown Providence. She was very active in her parish and other Catholic causes. She enjoyed regular exercise programs at her spa until she was in her 80's and also enjoyed gardening. She leaves three children, Joseph J. Procaccini of Baltimore, MD, Constance "Connie" P. Procaccini of Cambridge, MA and South Kingstown, and Catherine A. "Cathy" Procaccini of North Providence. In addition, she is survived by three grandsons, Gabriel and his wife Maria, Marc and his wife Lauren, and Anthony; great-granddaughter, Sophia Catherine; daughter-in-law Mattie A. Procaccini and son-in-law Antis Zalkalns. She was the sister of Anna Vona of North Providence and the late Jenny Masso, John Previte, Sam Previte and Sal Previte. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
