of North Providence, passed away at home peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2021 after a long illness.
Kay was born in Watertown MA on February 7, 1931. She went to Armenia in 1949 with her parents and grandparents. They were not allowed to leave Armenia and lived there for 23 long years. Kay received her bachelor’s degree in Yerevan Armenia and was an English teacher for 19 years. She married Victor Derderian and had two children – Ben and Steven Derderian. They returned to America in 1972. She took a job at Old Stone Bank, and then at Guild Loan and Investments Co. and worked her way up to become their training officer. She loved her co- workers and customers and had 23 wonderful years there until the company’s demise.
She was the beloved wife for 50 wonderful years of the late Victor Derderian. Kay is survived by her two sons, Steven Derderian and Ben Derderian, daughter-in -law Terri Derderian, and grandchildren Alexandra and Christopher Derderian whom she loved and was proud of all of them. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Paul Asdurian and sister of the late John Asdurian all buried in Armenia. May they rest in peace. Kay will be deeply missed.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 22nd at 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, Providence (seating will be limited, social distancing and masks required). Burial will be private.
