CAROLINE A. (GUGLIELMO) BERARDUCCI was born on June 4th, 1926. She passed away on February 13th, 2024 at the proud age of 97.
She was born in Providence, RI to Raphael Guglielmo and Maria Albanese who were loving and doting parents. Caroline grew up on Federal Hill in a thriving Italian community. She attended Hope High School and graduated with honors. Caroline went on to become an activist and her hard work and tenacity impacted her community in so many positive ways. Along with fighting for section-8 housing and volunteering at the Federal Hill House Community Center, she was on the board of Providence Redevelopment. Caroline was lauded for her work and profiled in Rhode Island’s “Who’s Who” anthology as well as being awarded two keys to the city of Providence. As a testimony of her admiration and respect, it was often said, “If you look up the definition of ‘determination,’ you’ll find Caroline Berarducci’s picture.”
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband Albert Berarducci and is survived by her children Maureen Plunkett and her husband Michael, Albert Berarducci Jr., and Stephen Berarducci and his wife Connie, as well as her grandchildren, Michael, Meghann, Stephen and Brittany. They fondly remember her motto: “I can. I will. And I shall.” Her loving spirit, sharp sense of humor and– of course– her famous meatballs, will be missed.
A celebration of her life and mass of the Christian burial will take place on Friday February 23rd, 2024 at 11am at St. Mary's Church (1525 Cranston St, Cranston, RI). Burial immediately to follow at St. Ann Cemetery (73 Church St, Cranston, RI). Viewing to be held beforehand from 9am to 10am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Indian Education Fund (a foundation that she loved to support) would be greatly appreciated.
