CAROLINA (GELMI) CASALI

87, of Providence, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the wife of sixty-four years to Charles J. Casali. Born in Trento, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Guiliani) Gelmi. She was a teacher's aide for the Providence School Department for ten years before retiring in 1982. Carolina was an advocate for children with disabilities and was a past president and founding member of the PPTSE. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Anthony A. Casali and his wife Carol of Beverly Hills, FL, Robert C. Casali and his wife Sandra of Johnston, Elizabeth Perkowski and her husband Paul of Swansea, MA and Gregory P. Casali of Providence. Carolina was the grandmother of Chris, Lori, Charles, William, Cathryn, Elizabeth and the great-grandmother of three. She was the sister of Bruno Gelmi of Merano, Italy and the late Bianca Gelmi. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
