Carol Ann (Vellone) DeSista

83, of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

Carol was born on December 6, 1941 in Narragansett, RI to Carlo and Allison (Claire) Vellone. She is survived by her sisters, Lucille Smith and her husband the late William Smith, June Semons, Magaret Carvalho and husband Robert Carvalho. She is also survived by her brother Carlo Vellone Jr and his wife Ann Vellone. 

She was the loving wife of the late Angelo DeSista, married for 63 years. Carol worked at Stop and Shop for many years as the head of the bakery department. She retired early so she and Angelo could enjoy their condominium in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was an avid bowler and looked forward to bowling with her teammates on a weekly basis. Carol loved nothing more than spending time with her family and treasured every moment with her grandchildren. 

Carol is survived by her children, Michele A Carbone and husband Joseph, Angelo (Tony) DeSista and his wife Beth, and Lisa A. DeSista and Frank. She was the proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Al, Brittany, Chelsea, Abbegail and Emmalee. She was also the great-grandmother to Marley and Madelyn.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. VISITING HOURS will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
