CARMINO TOMAO

97, of Cranston, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol. He was the beloved husband of the late Augustina (Giardina) Tomao. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Angelo and Mary (Tullo) Tomao. Mr. Tomao was employed by the US Government in production control at the former US Naval Air Station, Quonset Point for twenty-five years before retiring in 1973. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. Carmino was a member of the Cranston Senior Center.

He is survived by his children, Linda A. Barrett and her husband Bruce of Kingston, and Joseph M. Tomao and his wife Ann of Manchester, NH. Carmino was the cherished grandfather of Christopher, Nicholas, Marisa, and Christina. He was the brother of Louise DeQuattro of Johnston and the late Michael Tomao, Laura DelVicario, Alice Pupella, Gina Stephanopoulas, and Lorraine DiBiase.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 64 Brayton Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
