Carmine D. DiPippo 87, of Austin Ave. Smithfield, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Edith M. (Pelfree) DiPippo, and they were married for the past 62 years. Born in Cranston a son of the late Pasquale and Elvira (Scala) DiPippo. Mr. DiPippo was a disabled United States WW II Army veteran, and was a Purple Heart recipient. Carmine was a member of the State of RI Striper Fishing Club, was an avid Hawaiian steel guitar player, an accomplished carpenter, and was a "jack of all trades". Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Donna Eller of FL, Carol Maples of Cranston, Patricia DiPippo of Providence, his sister, Rose Triplett of PA, and was the cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 9. Carmine was the father of the late Raymond E. DiPippo and the brother of the late Adolph, James, John DiPippo, Virginia Martinelli and Phyllis Ciano. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary's Church Cranston St. Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 4-8 pm.
