84, of Highland Beach, FL formerly of Providence and Newport, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton, FL. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Carmine and Mary (Cannavo) Petteruti. Mr. Petteruti was a partner and vice-president of the former Petteruti Motor Sales of Providence for many years. He was also a former real estate agent and antique shop owner in Newport. Carmine was a decorated US Army veteran serving during WW II. He was a former founding member of the Alpine Country Club and a member of the Providence Art Club, Museum of Art at the Rhode Island School of Design, Preservation Society of Newport County and the Newport Art Museum. He is survived by his sister Barbara J. Giguere and her husband Robert of Huntersville, NC and was the brother of the late Florence P. Catullo and Joseph C. Petteruti. Carmine is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private.
