CARMELLA "MILLIE" A. (GESMONDI) HESFORD

CARMELLA A. "MILLIE" (GESMONDI) HESFORD, 67, of Simmonsville Ave., Johnston, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife for 46 years of John H. Hesford. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Anthony G. and Clara (Macari) Gesmondi, she was a lifelong resident of Johnston.

Millie was the owner of Millie's Beauty Salon in Johnston for the past 37 years and was treasurer of Hesford Landscaping, Inc. and Superior Lawn Care. She was an active member of St. Rocco's Church and its annual feast, and an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides her husband, she was the devoted mother of Scott D. Hesford and his wife Janine of Scituate, Jeff A. Hesford and his wife Jenn of Millville, MA and Kristen M. Pontarelli and her husband Robert of North Providence; loving grandmother of Gianna, Alexsa, Jake and Lily A. Hesford; dear sister of Anthony G. Gesmondi, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane of East Greenwich and the late Frank Gesmondi and his wife Gail of Cranston; and loving aunt of Tanya, Melissa, Nicole, David and Elyse Gesmondi.

Her funeral will Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church, 927Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
