CARL L. NELSON

Carl L. Nelson 87, of Ophelia Street, Providence, died Saturday December 27, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of the late Teofila "Jennie" G. (Buccoliero) Nelson. Born in Barre, VT, he was a son of the late Carl J. and Dora M. (Stewart) Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a receiving clerk for the former Valueland Supermarkets for thirty-eight years before retiring in 1987. He was also employed by the former A&P Supermarkets. Mr. Nelson was an US Marine Corps veteran serving during WW II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Scalabrini Council # 3547 and was a former usher at Holy Cross Church for over fifty years. He is survived by his two sons Bernard S. Nelson and his wife Patricia of North Scituate and Dennis M. Nelson and his wife Anna Marie of Jefferson, MA. Mr. Nelson was the grandfather of seven and the great-grandfather of four. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
