Candida Perez

83, most recently of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Elmhurst Extended Care in Providence.  Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Candida was the daughter of the late Matilde Perez.  She worked as a clerk for New York City Health & Hospitals Corporation before retiring.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Amanda Carrasco of Cranston and her husband, Dantes A. Carrasco.  She was the mother of the late Miguel "Mike" Velasquez.  Candida was the cherished grandmother of Nancy Velasquez, Cynthia Velasquez, Valerie Velasquez, Dantes Armando Carrasco, Christopher S. Carrasco and 8 great-grandchildren. A prior member of the Cranston Senior Center where she spent days volunteering for the smile doll program and then playing a round of Dominoes with her friends.  A wise woman, who loved to dance and travel and knew how to live every chapter in the book of life to the fullest.

Her funeral service will take place on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Alzheimer's Center, 25 Brayton Ave, Cranston, RI 02920, in memory of Candida Perez.
