Beverly J. Montaquila ( Cimino ), 67, of Ralls Dr., Cranston passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 10, 2008. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she grew up on Sunrise Dairy Farm in Cranston, and lived a lovely, vibrant life in Rhode Island. As a young girl she was active in the 4H Club where she won many blue ribbons for her sewing. A wonderful student, she attended URI where she was president of her sorority Alpha Delta Pi. She graduated with honors in 1962 with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She fell in love with teaching, and received her Masters in Education in 1970. She had a successful 30 year career as an Educator in Cranston, as an elementary school teacher, a Reading Consultant, and then as Director of Reading Services. She later became President of Educational Focus Enterprises, Inc., a company she founded with her partner and dear friend Nina Laurenzo. As a mother and wife, her love and devotion were unsurpassed. She met her husband of 42 years on a blind date, and their home became the gathering place for her large extended family. Together, they enjoyed entertaining and hosting family holidays, which were a highlight for her children. A stylish woman, she loved fashion and elegance in all its forms, which extended to all areas of her life. In her later years, she and her husband traveled extensively in Italy and enjoyed socializing with their many friends. Her charm, warmth and strength were an inspiration to all who met her. Surviving are her beloved husband Jack, her son John and wife Anne Marie, daughter Christine and husband Brad, seven grandchildren, Matthew, Julieanne, Daniel, Cate, Luca, Francesca and Leo, her mother Rose, brother Joe, sister Deborah, sister in-law Paula Singleton, niece and nephews. She is preceded by her father Joseph. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave., Cranston at 10am. VISITING HOURS Thursday morning 8-9am. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
