BERTHA I. (LAJOIE) CORMIER-CARDILLI

71, of Coventry, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved companion of the late Joseph Cardilli. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Janet (Genereux) Lajoie. Bertha worked as a jeweler for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, scrabble, and reading; her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Bertha was the devoted mother of Denise Hopp of Johnston, Susan Bennett and her husband Arnold of Glocester, Dianne Mekuto of Colorado, Sandra Santos and her husband Richard of Coventry; stepmother of Raymond Cardilli of Johnston, Jodie Cardilli of Johnston, and Joseph Cardilli, Jr. of Johnston; cherished grandmother of 23 and great-grandmother of 12. She was the beloved sister of Janet Bursell, Ann-Marie Cardilli, and sister-in-law of Marion Lajoie. She was also sister of the late Loretta Silva, Maurice Lajoie, Marcel Lajoie, Roland Lajoie, Raymond Lajoie, Theresa Robideau, and Joseph Lajoie. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday at 8 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 5-8 pm.
