BERNARD C. "BERNIE" KELLY

Bernard C. "Bernie" Kelly 67, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Narragansett, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart, FL. He was the devoted husband of Paula M. (Handlon) Kelly. They were married for forty-six years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles and Claire (Lewis) Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a supervisor for the Providence Gas Company for thirty- two years until his retirement. He was a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Mr. Kelly was a US Coast Guard veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. Mr. Kelly was a communicant of St. Veronica's Chapel and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, American Legion and a former College Football Official for ECAC. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children Timothy J. Kelly and his wife Sandra of Plainfield, IL, Michael S. Kelly and his wife Teresa of West Milford, NJ Sean P. Kelly and his wife Kimberly of Doylestown, PA, Kathleen M. Dupointe and her husband Francis of Brookhaven, NY and Eileen P. Hansen of South Kingstown. He was the cherished grandfather of eleven. Mr. Kelly was the brother of the late Patricia Harrison and Kathleen Francazio. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Veronica's Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
