BERNARD J. CALITRI

Calitri, Bernard J., 94, of Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Kingston. He was the husband of Margaret (Scungio) Calitri. Born in Peacedale, RI he was the son of the late Domenico and Michelena (Grasso) Calitri. Mr. Calitri worked as a produce manager for Belmont Fruit Company for many years, before retiring. He also was the owner and operator of Narragansett Bait Shop & Calitri Fruit Stand. Mr. Calitri was an avid fisherman for over 70 years. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Domenic B. Calitri of Narragansett., a brother Antonio Calitri of Wakefield, a sister Katherine Moretti of Beaufort, South Carolina, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Shirley A. Calitri. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd., (Rt.1A Narragansett), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, High St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
