Belange Jacques Joseph Almonacy

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Belange Jacques Joseph Almonacy, who departed this life on February 24, 2025, at the age of 90. A man of great strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his family, he leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and hard work.

Born on April 17, 1934, to Emmanuel Almonacy and Bienaimise Cecille Alphonse, Belange was one of eight children. Though he outlived all his siblings, he carried their memories with him throughout his life. He received his early education chez les Frères de L’Instruction Chretienne and later completed his high school studies in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

A devoted father of eleven, Belange worked tirelessly to provide for his family, ensuring that each of his children felt loved, supported, and guided. His dedication was evident in his work at Imprimerie Almonacy, the family printing business. For many in the 1980s and 1990s, the printing shop was more than just a business, it was a cornerstone of the community, where schoolbooks, reports, and essential documents came to life under his careful supervision. Alongside running the family business, he held various public sector positions, including serving as Director of OFATMA and Chief Security Officer at Customs Port.

Beyond his professional life, Belange found joy in hunting, a pastime that connected him with nature and reflected his patience and skill. In 1995, he emigrated from Haiti to the United States to embark on a new chapter, yet he never abandoned his deep-rooted values, love for his family, or pride in his heritage.

Despite facing significant health challenges in recent years, he defied medical expectations, holding on to witness cherished family milestones including his son’s wedding in Mexico and his 90th birthday celebration in Colombia. His strength, determination, and love for his family remained evident until his final days.

Belange is survived by his beloved wife, Edith Almonacy, his eleven loving children, numerous grandchildren, and an extended family who will forever cherish his memory. His presence, wisdom, and love will remain in our hearts, guiding us forward as he watches over us.
