BARBARA I. (KLONOWSKA) TOEGEMANN

Barbara I. (Klonowska) Toegemann
88, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Toegemann. Born in Zegrze Poland, she was a daughter of the late Maksymilian and Helena (Karwacka) Klonowski. Barbara was an employee of General Electric for many years before her retirement. She served with the Polish Underground Army during WW II as a messenger and received the Polish Medal of Honor for her efforts. She was a devout catholic and was a member of the Polish Cultural Club of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Robert N. Toegemann and his wife Lauren of Fremont, CA, Irene L. Silva of Cranston, Kristine E. Toegemann of Cranston, and Teresa H. Takesian and her husband Greg, of Newton, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of seven and the great-grandmother of four. Barbara was the devoted sister of Sophie Klonowska of Sweden, Gabriel Klonowski and Marche Klonowski, both of Poland. She was the sister of the late Andre and Stanley Klonowski. Barbara is also survived by her many beloved relatives in Poland.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mark, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Interment will be in Pocasset Cemetery. VISITING HOURS Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
