BARBARA J. (FREDERICK) SIMONE

73, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of forty-seven years to Roger L. Simone. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oscar E. and Evelyn E. (Kirk) Frederick. Barbara was an elementary school teacher and principal in the Cranston School Department for thirty-five years before her retirement. She spent most of her career as the principal at Eden Park School. After her retirement she was an adjunct professor of Education at Rhode Island College. Barbara was a graduate of RI College, Class of 1961. She also received her master's degree from RIC. Barbara was a member of the Cranston Hall of Fame. Her life priority was her twin grandsons.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving son Scott F. Simone and his wife Stephanie of Richmond. Barbara was the cherished grandmother of twin grandsons, Jacob and Joshua Simone. She was the devoted sister of Donald W. Frederick and his wife Denise of Narragansett.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Interment will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
