Barbara L. (Messier) LeFort, 67, of Wildflower Drive, Cranston, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at home. She was the wife of the late Albert LeFort. Born in Providence; she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Blanche (Gill) Messier. Barbara was a laundry worker at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, Cranston for three years before retiring in 1998. Mrs. LeFort was an advocate for people with disabilities and a Special Olympian. She attended the Silver Lake Senior Center. Barbara was a recognized story teller through Advocates in Action and was a member of SPRED, TECH-ACCESS and Cranston Voices. She was the beloved cousin of Judy Boyle, Joan Chapell, Carol Messier and June Fitzpatrick. Barbara also leaves many dear friends and support staff at the Wildflower Residence and Cranston Arc. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 178 Dexter Street, Providence and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Sunday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chepachet.
