70, of Providence, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of John F. Fitzgerald. They were together for 41 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward R. Wood and Madeline E. (O'Brien) Wood Rego. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a solderer for Kirks Folly in Providence for twenty-three years. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Madeline Natalizia, Deana Nicoll, Peter Palermo, Edward Nicoll, Nadine Nicoll, John Nicoll, Sheila (Fitzgerald) Andrade, and the late Deborah Roderigues. She was the grandmother of nineteen and the great-grandmother of seven. Barbara was the sister of Thomas Wood, Mary Shell, and the late Edward R. Wood, Jr., Mildred Lincoln and Vivian Holland. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
