71, of King Philip Rd., Narragansett passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the husband of Marion (Hartley) Donnelly. He was born in Providence a son of the late Austin J. Donnelly Sr. and Madeline (Casey) Donnelly.
Mr. Donnelly graduated from Our Lady of Providence Seminary (BA, 1961), St. Mary's Seminary Baltimore (S.T.B., 1963), Rhode Island College (M.Ed., 1969) and Harvard Business School-Advanced Management Training. Mr. Donnelly was the President of International Armored Service, President and Founder of International Security Systems and International Depository, Inc. and Rhode Island ADDults. He was the President and Chair of National Armored Car Association and Eastern Armored Car Association, Vice President of ETICAM and a Guidance Counselor at Ponaganset High School. He was a member of European Security Transport Association, Life-Time Member of the Rhode Island Yacht Club, Bonnet Shores Historical Committee, Sons of the Irish Kings, Care New England-VNA and the RI School Counselor Association. Mr. Donnelly was a member of the Board of Directors of the RI Federal Savings & Loan, Industrial Environmental Managers of the National Registry of Environmental Professionals, Kent County VNA of Rhode Island, New England Institute of Technology-Technology Advisory Board and the New England Association of College Admissions Counselors. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Austin J. Donnelly III of Seattle, WA and Heather K. Donnelly-Ponte of Atlanta, GA. He was the grandfather of Dennis Austin Ponte and Katelyn E. Ponte and brother of Kathleen Rigney of Narragansett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Veronica Chapel, Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. ( RT 1A) Narragansett on Tuesday, 3-7 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Greenwich.
