AUGUST A. CARDELLO

A Cranston resident passed away Thursday April 17, 2008 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband, for 53 years, of Helen (Santilli) Cardello. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Michael and Angelina (Fico) Ciardiello. Gus, as he was known, was born on February 28, 1925 in Providence. He attended Providence public schools and graduated, Cume Laude, in 1949 from Bryant College with a BA degree in accounting. He went on to become a CPA with his own practice in Cranston for 40 years and in 1986 became a board member and Treasurer of Pier Bank in Narragansett. He was a WW-II Army Veteran. Besides his wife; Gus is survived by his four children, Mary Ann Azzolina of San Clemente, CA, Carol Hunt and Patricia Mastellone both of New York City, & Richard Cardello of Cranston, nine grandchildren and was brother of the late Joseph Cardello and Edward Ciardiello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11am in St. Mary's Church Cranston. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
