AUGUST "GUS" ABBATEMATTEO

August "Gus" Abbatematteo, 82, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the North Broward Medical Center, Pompano Beach, FL. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Nassi) Abbatematteo. Mr. Abbatematteo resided in Florida for 40 years and was the general manager for the Boca Raton Resort & Club for 25 years until his retirement. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. He was the father of Catherine Abbatematteo of Boca Raton, FL, Father-in-law of David Horowitz of Boca Raton, FL. Grandfather of Nicholas and Alexander August Horowitz. Brother of Louise Bowen of Cranston, Viola Rotella of North Providence, Anna Santucci of Cranston, Albert Abbatematteo of North Providence, Joseph Abbatematteo of FL and the late Anthony and Arthur Abbatematteo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:00 am in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston. Entombment will be in the Mother of Hope Mausoleum in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
