ATTILIO MANCINI

Attilio Mancini 89, of Simmonsville Ave. Johnston, passed away Sunday August 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Cairo) Mancini. Born in Meadville, PA a son of the late Antonio and Catherine (Petrucci) Mancini. Mr. Mancini was a welder and forklift operator at ITT Grinnell, and was also a WWII Army veteran. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Maria Flanagan of MA, Katherine Gruca and her husband John, Attilio A. Mancini and his wife Laurie all of East Providence, his sister Ida DiFiore of Warwick. Attilio was the cherished grandfather of Ian, Jonathan, Christopher, Gregory, Caitlin, and Ryan, great grandfather of Riley, Adriana and Logan. Attilio was also the step grandfather of Nathan and Katelyn, and brother of the late Ralph, Guido, and Vincent Mancini. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Cathedral of SS Peter & Paul 30 Fenner St., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 5-8 pm.
