Assunta "Sue" (Palmisano) Funaro of Providence, passed away suddenly Tuesday May 19, 2009 at RI Hospital. She was the devoted wife of 62 years to Felix Funaro. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Rosario and Anna (Comella) Palmisano, she lived in Providence for most of her life. She was a hairdresser and owner of Sue's Coiffures on Broadway, Providence for 45 years. She was a wonderful cook and loved to do crosswords in her spare time, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, she leaves a beloved daughter, JoAnn Lovett and her husband Robert Harty sisters; Margaret Civito; Terry Zarrella; Elena Palmisano and a brother Sam Palmisano. She was the sister of the late Anna D'Alessandro, Rose DeMizio, Angelina "Dolly" Antonucci, Michael and Anthony Palmisano. Sue also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave Cranston on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday 5-8 p.m.
