ASCENZO A. "VINNY" MARTINO

Of Johnston, died Thursday, April 1, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Shirley J. (Marcello) Martino. They were married for fifty years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Assunta (Lombardi) Martino. Mr. Martino was a chef at the Alpine County Club for eighteen years before retiring in 2009. He was the co-owner of the former Original Marcello's Restaurant of Swansea, MA. Besides his wife he is survived by loving his sons, Vincent A. Martino and his wife Melanie of Cranston, Michael V. Martino of Johnston, and Robert M. Martino and his wife Christine of North Scituate. He was the cherished grandfather of Christopher, Melissa, Demetri, Gabriella and Isabel. Vinny was the brother of Joseph Martino of North Providence, Olga Wilmont of California and the late Rose Greco and Anna Roland. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m.
