Arthur P. Urbano, Sr.

78, of West Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Antonietta (Bianco) Urbano. Brother of Angelina Pasquazzi of Cranston and Alfonzo Urbano of Riverside, and of the late Edward Urbano, Rena Mollicone, and Eleanor Gordon. Beloved father of Arthur P. Urbano, Jr., son of Phyllis (Cucca) Urbano, and his wife Tina, of North Scituate. Uncle of Pamela (Mollicone) Grist and David Pasquazzi, both of Cranston, and Deborah (Urbano) Domenico of Brooksville, Florida, and of the late Frankie Pasquazzi, Edward Urbano, and Alfonzo Paul Urbano II. He is survived by his wife Carol Galinelli of Warren. He loved his dogs Lucy, Emma, and Molly.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962 in Korea and Vietnam as a Combat Engineer. He received an Associate’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. For many decades he worked as a barber in various salons and nursing homes in Rhode Island and for nine years ran his own barber shop in Johnston called Mostly Kids. He played the drums and loved music, especially the Oldies. In conversations he would often sing a line from a song to make his point. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved classic cars. He was also a skilled sports shooter, winning several local tournaments and regional championships. He frequently volunteered at a soup kitchen for homeless veterans.

He died peacefully at the Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.

Monday Visiting hours: 9-10 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
