86, of Johnston, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Correia) Solitro. They were married for 40 years. Armando was born in Providence, a son of the late Michael and Francesca (Ceglia) Solitro.
Mr. Solitro was the former co-owner and head baker of Solitro’s Bakery in Cranston. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War.
The passion of his life was the dedication to his family and was the cherished father to six children, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was an active parishioner at Holy Ghost and St. Mary’s Churches. He was an avid NY Giants fan and a NY Yankees fan.
Armando his survived by his loving children, Robert Solitro and his wife Anne of Manchester NH, Sandra Solitro of Johnston, Linda Broccoli and her husband Henry of Cranston, Lucy Potter and her husband Dan of Hampton NH, Anthony Solitro and his wife Martha of Warwick, and the late Steven Solitro of North Providence. He was brother to Michael Solitro of Johnston and Dolly Rossi of Cranston. He was also brother of the late Pasquale Solitro, George Solitro and Lawrence Solitro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11 am at Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave. Providence, RI 02909. Visiting hours and Burial will be private.
