ARAXIE (SERGIDJIAN) SIMONIAN
ARAXIE (SERGIDJIAN) SIMONIAN of Johnston passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Scallop Shell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in South Kingstown after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Misak Simonian. Born in Turkey, she was the daughter of the late Dickran and Haiganoush Sergidjian.
Mrs. Simonian resided at Pocasset Bay Manor for the past 10 years, previously residing in Providence and North Providence. She was a nurse at the former Lying-In Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital on Maude St. in Providence for 22 years before retiring in 1972. She was a member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church where she served for many years as Secretary of the Senior Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Alice and son-in-law Vanni Buratti of Narragansett, and her cherished granddaughter, Melissa and her fiancAC. Joseph Clapprood. She was the sister of the late Dr. Azniv Sergidjian-Choukassizian, Zabel and Mihran Sergidjian.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be at North Burial Ground, Providence.
VISITING HOURS SUNDAY 5-8 p.m.
