86, of Johnston passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sofia DiCenso. Born in Sulmona, Italy, he was the son of the late Enrico and Rosa DiCenso.
Before moving to the United States in 1959 he was a member of the Guardia della Finanza and worked as a Chauffeur and Bodyguard for two Italian Treasury Secretaries. Antonio worked as a cement mason for various companies in Rhode Island until his retirement in 1985. He loved tending his garden and made delicious homemade wine, most of which he gave away to family and friends. He stressed education and adored his grandchildren. He was a great father, a loving husband, and a great nonno.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving son, Dr. Angelo DiCenso and his wife JoAnn of East Greenwich and his grandchildren Santino, Massimo, and Biagio. He was also the brother of the late Donato, Leopardo, and Fiorina DiCenso, Livia Centofanti, and Emilia Delmonico.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 12 Spruce Street, Providence. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
