Antonina C. (Sbacchis) LoBuono 94, of Gray Street, Providence, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, in North Providence, with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of 36 years of the late Vincenzo LoBuono. Born in Palermo, Italy a daughter of the late Teresa (Barone) and the late Francesco Paolo Sbacchis.
She had lived in Medford, MA before moving to Providence.
Mrs. LoBuono worked at the former Imperial Pearl Company of Providence for 10 years, before retiring, and previously worked for Priscilla Bridal Shop of Boston for 20 years. She is survived by her children, Frank LoBuono of Providence, Teresa Poli of Medford, MA., Francesca Paola "Lina" and her husband Joe Cozzo of Cranston and Antonina Cozzo of Cranston, and her daughter in-law Josephine LoBuono of Cranston. Mrs. LoBuono was the mother of the late Francesco Paolo LoBuono and the mother-law- of the late Sebastino Poli, the late RoseMarie LoBuono and the late Gaspare Cozzo. She was the loving grandmother (Nonna) of 19 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 32 great-grandchildren.
She was devoted faithfully to St. Antonio of Padova and Padre Pio. She also was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Palermo soccer team of the Italian Serie A.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday December 6th at 8:15 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Ave. Providence at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Medford MA.
VISITING HOURS Friday 4-8 p.m.
