Anthony "Tony" J. Palombo

83, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center RI surrounded by his loving family. They celebrated his 83rd birthday on May 10th by sharing stories, memories and laughter by his bedside. He was the beloved husband of Rita L. (Ruggieri) Palombo. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Young) Palombo. Anthony was a US Army Korean War Veteran and was employed by P. Ruggieri Construction Co. for 30 years as a union carpenter, Local No. 94. Tony was avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, gardening and mushrooming.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughters, Laurie Simpson, Susan Keener, Diann Pressley and son Anthony Palombo, Jr; stepdaughters Caroline “Cal” Kitson, Karla Misto and husband Mark, Kristine Cicchetti and husband Rick; thirteen cherished grandchildren and late granddaughter Sarah Keener.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Saturday at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 4 - 8 pm.
