ANTHONY "PAPA" DE RAIMO

88, of Madison Avenue, Cranston, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Morgan Health Center in Johnston. Anthony was the loving husband of Margaret (Gazzerro) DeRaimo for 66 years. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Antonia (Valente) DiRaimo. Anthony was employed as a Plant Engineer at the former Leesona Corporation in Warwick for 42 years until his retirement. He was also an Army Veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Paula Roy of Cranston, Dr. Anthony DeRaimo and his wife Brenda Foreman of Pensacola, FL, Alan DeRaimo and his wife Diane of Johnston and Susan Milan and her husband Donald of Cranston. He was the father in-law of the late Norman Roy. Anthony was the cherished "Papa" of Heather Grossguth, Allison Roy, Kristopher DeRaimo, Clint Milan, Megan DeRaimo, Austin and Shane Milan. He was a great grandfather to Max and Cooper Grossguth. Anthony was the brother of the late Frank and Angelo DiRaimo and Angelina Buttero.
His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place at R.I. Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Monday 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco's Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
