Anthony Quaranta, 93 of Johnston passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Boragine) Quaranta.
Tony proudly served his country in the Air National Guard during the Korean War Conflict. He was a long-time quality control inspector at Northup Gruman Corporation, retiring 31 years ago. He was an amazing and avid bowler, if you couldn’t find him check the local bowling alley. He was rumored to hold the record for the most consecutive games bowled, which was 32 games at Town Hall Lanes in Johnston. If there was an event that he was attending you can be sure that he was donning is dapper attire, pocket square included. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and an occasional game of pool. He was a the devoted “Papa Tony”, to his grandson Anthony.
He is survived by his son Steven Quaranta and his wife Linda of North Providence. He was the cherished “Papa Tony” of Anthony A. Quaranta. He was the brother of the late Joseph Quaranta, Florence Sacco, John Quaranta, and George Quaranta. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday March 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Philip’s Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI, 02828. Burial will be immediately following in St. Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
