87, of Narragansett passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Adele J. (Bruzzi) Giannetto for sixty-two years.
Born in the Bronx, NY he was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Mazzeo) Giannetto.
Anthony was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Fordham University and his Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University.
He worked at Westinghouse as an Electrical Engineer and later as President of Coastal Atlantic, a division of Allied Building Products.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church and also a member of their Men’s Club. Anthony was also a member of the Narragansett Lion’s Club. He enjoyed photography, playing golf, wood working and mentoring.
Toppa or Paki, as he was affectionately known by his grandchildren, treated everyone he met with kindness and respect, and for that he was revered. Toppa was loved very much by his family. In his final years on earth, he spent his time doing what he loved, which was enjoying his wife, children and grandchildren.
Along with Adele, he leaves his three children, Joseph Giannetto and his wife Donna, Nancy Bontz and her husband John and Andrew Giannetto and his wife Leanne; and his five grandchildren, Isabella, Matthew, Alexandra, Drew and Jack. He was the eldest brother of three, Fred Giannetto, and the late Joseph Giannetto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Point Judith Road, Narragansett. A livestreaming of Mr. Giannetto’s Mass may be found at www.stmarystaroftheseari.org. His burial with Military Honors will be private. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 4-6PM in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
