ANTHONY J. GAROFALO

82, of North Providence, passed away on Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Melissa (Sousa) Garofalo and was also the husband of the late Marilyn Coonan. Born in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Luigi and Laura (DiOrio) Garofalo.

Anthony was a Painter for the State of Rhode Island for over 30 years until retiring in 2010. He was also a member of the AFSCME Union Local 2448.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Sharon Porreca of North Providence, Marsha Davis of Rowlett, TX, David Garofalo of East Greenwich, and Justin Garofalo of North Providence; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Anthony was the brother of Luigi Garofalo of Cranston and the late Peter, Theodore, and Rosie Garofalo and Stella Collins.

His funeral and burial will be private. Also please respect the family as they would like their privacy at this difficult time.
