ANTHONY DI PETRILLO, ESQ.

96, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Raffaela (DiBiasio) DiPetrillo.

A lifelong Rhode Island resident, he attended Providence public schools and graduated from RI State College, now URI, and Boston University School of Law. He was an accomplished, devoted Attorney and a founding partner in the law firm of DiMascolo and DiPetrillo. He retired in 2009 after over sixty-five years of active practice and membership in the Rhode Island Bar Association. Anthony was one of the first group of boys to join the Olneyville Boys Club. He organized and chaired the Committee celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Olneyville Boys Club and served on the Board of Directors - RI Boys Club. He was co-owner of Watmough Day Camp and Holiday Acres Camp Ground; established RI High School Interscholastic Injury Fund and served as Counsel and member of Board of Directors; organized first chapter of RI Special Olympics, served as Counsel and member of Board of Directors; founding member and 1st President of the Alpine Country Club; long time communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cranston; attorney for the former family owned Progress Ice Cream Company, Inc.

Affectionately known as, "Uncle Tony", he is survived by his many nieces and nephews including retired Family Court Judge Carmine R. DiPetrillo. He was the brother of the late John, Albert, Emilio "Mal", and Amato "Buck" DiPetrillo, Lena Piccirillo, Mary DiMascolo and Jennie "JJ" Pasquale. He was also predeceased by his beloved companion Marie Branca.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
