ANTHONY J. "ANDY" CARCIERI, 83, of Cranston, died Friday, May 23, 2008 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary (Scamolla) Carcieri. They had been married for 61 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gennaro and Christina (Angelone) Carcieri.
Mr. Carcieri was a WW-II war hero receiving the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. He was the founder and past president of Andy's Landscape Construction and Nursery since 1946. He was a member of the American Landscape and Nursery Association, New England Nursery Association, Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association, and Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Anthony A. Carcieri and his wife Fran of North Kingstown, and his daughter Donna Beare and her husband Robert of Alpharetta, Georgia. He is also survived by his sister Vera Carcieri, two brothers, Thomas and Michael Carcieri, and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Rose Jacavone, Katherine Marcello, Julia Marzella and John Carcieri.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Sacred Heart, 820 Providence St., West Warwick at 10:00 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
