ANTHONY J. CACICIA, PFD, RET. "TONY C.", 64, of Freedom Court, Johnston and Naples, FL, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Joyce M. (Bates) Cacicia. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ignazio and Helen (Borrelli) Cacicia.

Anthony was a member of the Providence Fire Department for 28 years before retiring as Deputy Assistant Chief. He was a graduate of CCRI and was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was a member of Local 799 Providence Firefighters Union; a member of RI Association of Fire Chiefs; and past Vice President of Providence Permanent Firemens Relief Association.

Affectionately known as "Tony C.", nothing was more important to him as his family and friends. An avid Red Sox fan, he enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and spending winters in Naples, FL.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of the late Lisa Jean Cacicia; loving uncle of Donna Lancellotti of Warwick and Anthony P. Lancellotti, Lt. PFD of Cranston; and dear brother of Marie George of East Providence and the late Phyllis Lancellotti and Joann Capaldi. He is also survived by two cherished nieces and five cherished nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
