55, of Woodmist Circle, Coventry passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was the loving husband of Laurie (Alviti) Almeida. Born in Providence, he was the proud son of Raffaela "Della" (Iozzi) Almeida of Cranston and the late Anthony Almeida. He was the cherished father of Kristina Almeida and best friend and brother of David Almeida of Bristol. Anthony was co-owner of Narragansett Business Forms of Providence for over 25 years. Tony was the quintessential outdoorsman, loving fishing, hunting and boating. Anthony played for Cranston High School East football, participated in and winning the Interscholastic League's first Division 1 Super Bowl in 1972. He also was involved with the schools track team, weight division for three years in a row receiving many awards. He was a 2nd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. For over 25 years he volunteered and sponsored Game dinners for Children's Charity Organizations. Anthony was a fantastic soccer Dad. He was quite simply, the "Unsung Hero". His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Old St. Mary's Church 70 Church Street, West Warwick at 11:00am.
