ANNIE M. NAHIGIAN

ANNIE M. (KIBARIAN) NAHIGIAN, 87, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife for 25 years of the late David J. Nahigian.
Daughter of the late Simon and Yaghout (Mikaelian) Kibarian, she was born in Istanbul, Turkey after her parents survived the Armenian Genocide.
Annie grew up on Douglas Avenue in Providence before moving to Pilgrim Park in Warwick, where she resided for nearly 50 years and had many wonderful neighbors.
She was an avid bridge player, world traveler and devoted member of Sts. Vartanantz Church, where she served as past President and Treasurer of the Ladies Guild and volunteered tirelessly.
A graduate of Bryant College, she worked at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station for many years before becoming a fulltime mother and housewife.
She was the devoted mother of Nancy T. Tavitian and her husband Mark of Boston, MA and doting "gammy" to her adoring grandson, Sam Tavitian. Matriarch of her extended family, she was the cherished sister of Nishan Kibarian of North Providence, Joseph Kibarian of Warwick, Dr. Barkev Kibarian of Potomac, MD and the late Sarkis Kibarian. She was affectionately known as "Auntie Annie" to her many nieces, nephews and godchildren and was like a sister to her many cousins and lifelong friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday 4-7 p.m.
Interment will be in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
