Anne D. (Celona) Ruggieri, 90 of Cranston passed away peacefully Sunday April 24, 2022. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Laura (Verrechia ) Celona. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Ruggieri, Sr.
She was a seamstress for many years, owning her own business. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, she then went on to take classes at RISD. Anne was known for her great love for many things in her life. Most notably was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, the sun rose and set around her family. She was an avid cook and baker who was well known for standing by the oven in one of her many aprons. A close second would have to be her pizza. Her famous saying, “You should have called I would have made a pizza.” She prided herself on her appearance which was upheld by her standing 9:15 am Thursday hair appointment. She was a member of the Knightsville Senior Center and a member of Italian Cultural Society.
She was the loving mother of Lori Feery and her husband John of New Jersey, Edward Ruggieri, Jr. his wife Patrice of Warwick, and Joseph Ruggieri of Cranston. She was the grandmother of Nicole Moschella and her husband Robert, Johnny Feery, Harrison Jones, Katherine Ruggieri, and Edward Ruggieri, III. She was the great grandmother of Dominick and Anthony Moschella. She was predeceased by her brother Anthony Celona.
Her funeral will leave at 10:00 am Friday April 29, 2022, from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory. 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting Hours Thursday will be from 4:00- 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101.
