ANNA A. (SACCOCCIO) POCCIA

83, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at home. She was the beloved wife of Amedeo "Andy" Poccia. A lifelong Cranston resident, she was a daughter of the late Benedetto and Elena (DeSimone) Saccoccio. Anna was a self-employed hairdresser , and instructor of cosmetology for many years until her retirement. She was a founding member and past president of the Western Cranston Garden Club and a member of St. Mary's Church Cultural Society.

Besides her husband she is survived by her loving children, Paula Rosa and her husband Anthony of Foster, Richard Poccia and his wife Judy of Scituate, Joseph Poccia and his wife Sherri of Scituate, and Elena Curt and her husband Kevin of Cranston. Anna was the cherished grandmother of Katie, Ally, Billy, Brian, Joseph, and Jack. She was the sister of Salvatore Saccoccio and the late Antonette Shola, and Barbara Greenhalgh.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
