Anna Mignanelli

December 31, 1919 — December 15, 2020

Anna Mignanelli

of Cranston, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Cedar Crest Nursing Center in Cranston.  Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale and Della Rosa (Ciccio) Mignanelli.

Anna was the senior treasurer at Coro, the largest fashion costume jewelry manufacturer at that time, when in 1969 she joined Cartamore, a small precious metal jewelry firm as Chief Financial Officer.

In her active role in senior management, she significantly contributed to the growth of the company that one time employed 2,000 workers. Her leadership was guided by her integrity, spiritual core and personal strength which were reflected in all her business and personal relationships.  She was incredibly gifted with rare leadership by example, can do qualities and was loved by all those she touched.

She was selected and served as the first woman to be director at the then prestigious Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank which was only one of many firsts.

Anna was a good friend of Right to Life movement in RI and organized a number of drives to collect clothes and donations to support their effort.  She was also very active in Diocese of Providence Cursillo Program helping to plan and organize retreats for adults looking to learn more about their faith.

Anna was the dear sister of the late Margaret Gallo, Antonio Mignanelli, Gilda Sousa and Emanuel Mignanelli and loving aunt of Joseph Gallo, Beverly Pezza, Jean Geoffroy, Thomas Mignanelli, John Mignanelli, Anthony Sousa and the late Maria Lisa Brown.

We would like to acknowledge the Cedar Crest Nursing Center, especially Ingrid and her north wing staff which became part of our family for the past 15 years for their love and care to our Aunt.

Burial will be private due to health and safety concerns. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
