Anna McCormick (DiFolco), 82, of Cranston, died Monday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. McCormick.
Born in Providence, she was the youngest child of the late Eleuterio and Anna (Scorpio) DiFolco.
Mrs. McCormick was the first member of her family to graduate from high school, and strongly advocated education for her children and grandchildren.
She also believed in hard work, and was the business manager of Narragansett Business Forms for 46 years. She planned to retire this year.
She devoted herself to ensuring a good life for her family, and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen to make sure everyone was well-fed. Her opinions, advice and humor will be missed.
She is survived by her children, James T. McCormick and wife Cheryll of Cranston, Carol McCormick Semple and husband Herbert A. of Portland, Maine; grandchildren Gregory T., Andrew A. and Benjamin A. Semple, and Sean T. and Katie L. McCormick; her sisters Sofia Palmisciano of Providence and Maria Ciancio of Cranston; and eight nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by a brother, Dominic DiFolco of Cranston. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church, Cranston at 11:00am. Interment will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Friday morning 9-10am.
