93, of North Providence, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Sylvia. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Celia (Iacobbo) Oliva. Mrs. Sylvia held several positions for over 35 years at the RI VA Hospital, including Chief of Transcription, Chief of Ambulatory Care, Chief of Ward Administration, and Patient Advocate.
Ann was the loving mother of Margaret Sylvia of Hope, Kathleen Currier of Coventry, James Sylvia of North Providence, and Dorothy Soucy of Cranston. She was the cherished grandmother of James Masso, Kristin Gothier, Kaitlin Masso, Jessica Masso, and Ann Soucy. Adored great grandmother of Nathan, Connor, Eleanor, William Gothier, Grayson Masso. Ann was predeceased by her eight siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 16th, at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be held in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
