Ann M. Sykes, 54, of West Warwick passed away peacefully on Monday March 7, 2022 at home. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the Elida “Lily” (Valdez) Violante and the late Angelo Violante.
Her care giving nature carried through to all aspects of her life. She was a teacher’s aide having worked in numerous day care centers and schools. Her unwavering love for her children was only matched by her love for her grandchildren. She was generous, warm, and selfless.
Besides her mother she is survived by her beloved children, Christina Thompson and her husband Ryan of Texas, Johnathan Massey and Savannah of Warwick, Alexandria Goldman and her husband Michael of Cranston, Michael Massey and Katherine of West Warwick, Michaela of West Warwick, and Gregory Sykes of West Warwick. She was the devoted grandmother of 11 grandchildren, with the arrival of the 12th in the next two weeks. She was the beloved sister of Paula Gabriele and Steve of Naples, Florida. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Violante.
Visiting Hours will be held Saturday March 12, 2022, from 8:30-10:30 at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., at 11:00 am. Burial will private.
