Ann M. (Veilleux) DiSumma

May 31, 1925 — January 12, 2019

Ann M. (Veilleux) DiSumma

93, sadly passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at home under the care of her daughter Ann Marie Bellucci whom she has lived with for the past 22 years.  Born on May 31, 1925 in Lewiston, Maine to the late Marie Antoinette Nolette and the late Arthur Veilleux.

She was the loving mother of Ann Marie Bellucci and her 2 late sons Arthur Fraieli and Thomas Fraieli, Jr.; loving mother-in-law of Mrs. Connie Fraieli; beloved grandmother of Michael Chatelle, Stephanie Chatelle Alicea, Alfred Scivola, and the late Derek Thomas Chatelle and the late Ronald Smith (Fraieli); her 5 great grandchildren Ariana Morais Chatelle, Milania Alicea, Michael Chatelle Jr., Dante and Yasmeen Chatelle.  She was married to the late Peter DiSumma and was the beloved companion of Tony Lombardi.

Anna worked at Imperial Knife for 14 years in Providence, until their doors closed down.  From 1989-2008 she enjoyed working at Ann’s Park Place Florist in Johnston and Party Time Gift Shop in Cranston, both owned by her daughter but was operated by the mother/daughter team together for 19 years until Mrs. DiSumma could no longer work and suffered from dementia.  Anna loved talking to and meeting the many customers who came into the stores.

At age 93 she still loved playing cards with her grandchildren and would usually win!  Her #1 love was for Frank Sinatra.  Throughout the years Anna had an entire collection of Mr. Sinatra’s memorabilia and got the chance to see him perform twice.  Even during the last few weeks of her illness, she wanted to listen to him sing.

Mrs. DiSumma was loved by everyone who knew her and was adored by her daughter and grandchildren.  She will be missed deeply and will always be the “Matriarch” of our family.

She also leaves her beloved dog Leo, who never left her side and can sadly sense her passing.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
