Angelo J. Petrone, Sr.

a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 11, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 7, 1945, in Sioux City, Iowa, he dedicated a substantial part of his life to his career as a foreman for National Grid, where he served faithfully for thirty years before retiring. After a successful career, Angelo moved with his beloved wife, Antonia (Mastropasqua) Petrone, to Cranston, Rhode Island, where they enjoyed many years together. 

Angelo was a devoted family man, often expressing that his proudest accomplishments were his family. He is survived by his loving spouse of 55 years, Antonia; his daughter, Lisa Madsen, and her husband Gregg, of Cranston; and his son, Angelo J. Petrone, Jr., and his wife Tara, of Warwick. Angelo took great joy in watching his grandchildren grow, Callie Madsen, Nick Madsen, and AJ Petrone, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his family, Angelo had hobbies that brought him joy. He was a fan of cigars, enjoyed playing cards—especially pinochle—and had a penchant for playing slots. He was also a proud member of the East Natick Vets Club, contributing to the community around him.

He was predeceased by his father, Silvio Petrone; mother, Celia "Elsie" (Franco) Petrone; sister, Connie Petrone; and brother, Sal Petrone. Each of these individuals played a significant role in his life, and their memories lived on in Angelo's heart.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 16, 2024 at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday from 3-7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
